IPHONE TIPS

Tiny screens with tiny letters make tired eyes – this may help!

Increase or decrease text size

If you want to adjust the text size on your device for easier reading, then go to Settings and navigate to Display & Brightness > Text Size and adjust the slider to change the text size based on your preference.

Add those symbols with this simple tip:

Can’t find the € symbol on your iPhone or iPad’s keyboard? To insert this symbol, you simply have to tap and hold the $ key. You will be shown a list of alternate currency symbols, including €, to pick from. You can use the same trick to insert many other symbols like an inverted exclamation, longer hyphens, etc by tapping and holding the corresponding keys.

LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP!

Clicky Clicky trickery!

See the link below? See it says that it will be my web site! — the words are right there! BUT NO NO NO – it will take you somewhere else! Before clicking on the link – hover the mouse over it and look at the bottom of the browser window. This will show you the actual website URL that you will be sent to. Make sure that information matches what the text indicates. This one tip can save you from a lot of agony and pop ups!

PS the link in this example will take you to cnn.com, a legit website.

ANDROID TIP

Stop being annoyed by the droid!

Sometimes not hearing from your device can be like a mini vacation. Here is how to
control when you want to be informed by your device. Just go to:

Settings
Sounds and notifications
Do Not Disturb

From here you can turn on this feature – or schedule a time period for this to be active and add
Exceptions to the do not disturb rule – for the wife or kids and such. I set mine up so that if a client leaves a voicemail on my business line, my cell phone lets me know that – so always feel free to leave a message for me if I happen to not answer. I will be notified even when away!

GMAIL LESSON:

Gmail allows you to set up an autoresponder for those times when you are not able to get at your email OR you just want people to know you won’t be checking the account. To set this up do the following in Gmail:

Click on the gear icon and go to settings
Scroll down until you see the Vacation responder on option
Enter the date range, subject and message people will get
Click save changes

Thanks for reading along and I hope you find this useful. If you have a specific question or topic give me a ring and we can get you set up right!
